Giving Tuesday 2014: C-SHOP Revival

The C-SHOP Revival project plans to create a social space for community engagement, fostering dialogue about important social justice and community issues, while providing coffee and snacks to the greater community. By organizing with other student independent groups, the C-SHOP hopes to become a sustainable hub for student leadership and programing. The project would provide a much-needed venue for student space and gatherings, and would fill a current gap in the student experience. The project would use the $5,000 to jumpstart the creation of this student-run coffee shop by buying equipment and supplies, including an espresso machine.

Giving Tuesday 2014: Arts at Antioch

The Arts at Antioch project hopes to develop a comprehensive student assistantship program at the Herndon Gallery, which would pay students equitably for their labor and develop rich work-study experiences. In addition to building exhibitions that reflect the mission of the College and interdisciplinary academics, the Herndon Gallery provides an opportunity for Antioch students to gain in-depth, hands-on experience organizing programing and installing exhibitions. The project would use the $5,000 for student wages and to fund collaborative projects.

Antioch College’s Cooperative Education program sends students boldly into the world through the Ohio Agrarian Trade (OAT) Partnership supported by the Ohio Means Internships and Co-ops (OMIC) program of the Ohio Board of Regents. The OAT program helps students connect knowledge learned in the classroom to an immersive full-time work or research experience in Ohio’s burgeoning food production industries— a rich experiential education positioning students to bolster Ohio’s economic development.
