AAUP: Faculty Input Was Largely Ignored in Closing Antioch College
Date: 9/8/2009 to 10/8/2009
An investigation by the American Association of University Professors
into the closing of Antioch College paints a detailed picture of how
administrators abandoned the institution’s longtime faculty-governance
procedures as they considered closing the liberal-arts institution in
2007.
The 60-page report on the investigation, released Tuesday, also says it
appears administrators did not explore alternatives to declaring
financial exigency a little more than two years ago as they considered
the college’s future.
