The Antioch College Continuation Corporation just launched a new Antioch College Web Site
The site at antiochcollege.org contains details on the emerging independent Antioch College and includes job postings and applications for positions to be filled in the first round of hiring for the College.

Some 45 Antiochians and friends celebrated Antioch College’s independence
and enjoyed the stunning skyline views and urban cacophony of Nic Ruley ‘02
and Brett King’s South Loop sky garden on Saturday, Aug. 1.
Guests chief transition officer Matthew Derr ‘89, College Revival Fund
executive director Risa Grimes, and assistant director of alumni relations
Steven Duffy ‘77 spoke about ongoing rebuilding and fundraising efforts at
the college.
Matthew reported that hiring some 40 staff will begin this week. He’s
forming a search committee to hire the first core six college faculty,
called Morgan Fellows, who will develop curriculum and eventually hire more
faculty. The faculty search committee includes, among others, former dean
and professor emeritus Steve Schwerner ’60, Cary Nelson ’67, president of
the American Association of University Professors, and Frances Degen
Horowitz ‘54, president of the graduate school at the City University of New
York.
All three guests emphasized the need to increase alumni participation in the
movement to revive the college. Raising the rate of alumni giving, which
currently stands at 5%, will be instrumental in qualifying the college for
larger grants. This is a two-way street of course, and Matthew also talked
of plans to continue visiting chapters to solicit feedback about the
rebuilding and visioning process.

We’re getting VERY close to the final deal for an independent Antioch College,
which is scheduled to take place August 31st (the negotiations are going well).
The Alumni Reunion will start October 2nd and the theme is Out of the Twilight
Zone (or something close to that), celebrating 50 years of the Twilight Zone
and our emergence from Antioch’s
“twilight zone.” For more information on Reunion

Donald H. Clark is a writer, teacher, consultant and clinical
psychologist who has specialized in group and individual work with gay
people since 1968. His writing includes fiction, textbooks, and
articles for both professional journals and popular magazines. He is
the author of the best-selling, seminal book, Loving Someone Gay, now
in its fourth edition, as well as Living Gay and As We Are.
On Tuesday, June 16, the staff of the College Revival Fund gathered at the newly re-opened Corner Cone in downtown Yellow Springs to bid a fond farewell to Chelsea Martens ’08.
